Shelterwood Harvesting in Root Disease Infected Stands in Southeastern British Columbia - Three-Year Results

This document evaluates the early outcomes of using partial cutting and pushover harvesting to manage forest stands infected with root disease in southeastern British Columbia. The document is structured into three primary scientific inquiries: an assessment of understory light availability, an analysis of forest litter decomposition, and a detailed study of seedling regeneration and survival. Key findings indicate that specialized harvesting techniques did not negatively impact tree health, however, there is a clear trend of increasing seedling growth as the remaining overstory density is reduced.
